Bonseki - its meaning and appeal

Peace of mind achieved through meditation,
that is where Bonseki centres itself.

Bonseki appeals to individuals differently,
but I personally believe its biggest
attraction is its' expression for non-eternity'
'Denial of immortality'

Kiyohara school does not use an adhesive
agent to glue sand/stones onto the tray.
Even a light breeze can wipe off the the
work from the tray.
The finished work can be appreciated a little while,
but for the new work to be created, it will
soon be cleared off from the tray,
by the artist's own hand.
Each time, the finished work seems to achieve
different levels of completion depends on the
artist's condition, weather and so on.
Two artists would create a completely different
work out of same example.

Bonseki is created through times,
constantly changing its expression.
Synchronising with creators and their lives.
Through creating each landscapes, the artist
can experience the change in oneself and
also understands that everything go through changes.
