Domenico Scarlatti was born on Oct. 26, 1685, in Napoli. His father is Alessandro Scarlatti, who is famous for operas and songs. D. Scarlatti passed away on July 23, 1757, in Madrid.
He is famous for his harpshicord sonates.
He was employed at the chapels in Italy, and his operas and sacred works are not innovative. When he left for the court in Portguish and Spain, his genious music appeared.
According to Kirkpatrick, who is the excellent harpshicordist and schalor, Scarlatti composed 555 sonates. The sonates are full of variety of feelings and techniques!
I have not listened all the CD's recorded Scarlatti's works yet, and I would never.
The CD you listened to is the best CD.
If you don't have any Scalatti's works, I would recommend Horovitz's album.
