1. theme
"Museum City Fukuoka" is a contemporary art exhibition in downtown
area in Fukuoka, Japan, organized by the Museum City Project.
MCF has held every two years since 1990. They say MCF is a kind
of temporary public art exhibition.

In 2000, the MCP would like ambitious artists to join our coming project,
MCF 2000.
The theme of MCF 2000 will be "being out" (draft).
MCP has been thinking that fine art must be in a real life,
and that art and artists should go outside of the art-world.

exhibition sites = Tenjin and Hakata area in Fukuoka, Japan
exhibition period = Oct. 4 (wed) - Nov. 5 (sun) , 2000 (draft)
3. number of the selected artists as public-entry.

*number of the invited artists is 11, then totally approx. 29 artists
will join the MCF2000.
4. application
(1) Any artist can apply. (no matter: nation, age, career, etc.)
(2) MCP hopes the artists to recognize MCP's policy and to proceed the
work faithfully.
(3) The artists will have to install their work by themselves. If the
artist is living in Kyushu, he/she will have to remove by him/herself too.
(4) Please send the data and information to the MCP's office;
- personal profile (name, postal address, telephone&fax number,
e-mail address, etc.)
- data of career, history, résumé, etc.
- data, document, information of past artwork
- idea for the MCF 2000
- other material and information to explain your works
* No special format to apply.
* MCP will not return the data and information from you, so please
do not send the original important materials.
* You can send them by e-mail with attachment files.

(7) process of selection
MCP will held the special meeting with members of the selection-committee
in early August, 2000.
MCP will tell the applied artists the result until Aug. 20th, 2000.
And MCP will annouce the result of the selection on the net.
(8) Condition for the selected artists
- MCP will support a part of the artwork's cost. (max. 200,000
yen. draft)
- MCP will NOT support any airfares and accomodation fee, etc.
The artists have to prepare by themselves.
- MCP will pay the support-fee AFTER the installation of the
artwork. (it is not decided when)
- MCP will be able to quit the election, if the artist will NOT
cooperate with MCP. (after another meeting with the selection-committee)
