Construction of Recycling-based Society with Public Participation
-Case of Recycling Measures to Waste from Kitchens-

Abstract: “The Basic Law for Establishing the Recycling-based Society”
was enacted in May 2000. In addition, five individual laws were established.
In Japan, huge amounts of wastes have been discharged. Unless something
is done, waste disposal sites will soon be full. Wastes are useful things
that can be used repeatedly or recycled. This paper aims to present several
cases of recycling measures to waste from kitchens with public participation,
in order to promote the creation of the Recycling-based Society.
