Seventy-eight Jomon sites have been
found in my city, Sayama, which is located
in Saitama Prefecture to the north of Tokyo.
Three of them belong to the Incipient
Stage of the Jomon Period, three to the Initial
Stage, nineteen to the Early Stage, thirty-seven
to the Middle Stage, sixteen to the Late
Stage, and none to the Final Stage. Relics
were excavated from those sites, but most
of them were fragments of pots. Photos
of pots shown below are those in better conditions,
found in sites of the Middle Stage.
