　Hello everyone! My name is Okawa, the representative of "Kiyose Japanese Class."
In recent years, not only in the Asian region but also in Europe and the United States and other countries, interest about Japanese culture has increased, and the number of foreigners who settle in Japan is also increasing. Accordingly, people who would like to learn Japanese have increased greatly. Based on this situation, I have decided to start a Japanese class from the idea that I would like to serve them. ・Those who are learning at a major Japanese language school, but because of many students in there, feel dissatisfied with getting inadequate explanation even if they have questions or problems.
・ Those who are interested in various cultures of Japan, such as animation and food culture, but feel dissatisfied with few opportunities to be picked up at the current school.
・ Those who would like to know not only the language of Japanese but also the way of thinking and japanese' viewpoint of things, and further about the characteristics and structure of Japanese society.
・Those who plan to find a job in Japan, and would like to learn intensively about etiquette or manners in company visits or interviews and how to use honorifics.
・Those who are planning to take the exam of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (N1 to N5 in 5 stages) and are aiming for passing.
・Those who would like to learn not only Japanese grammar learning at Japanese language school but《 school grammar 》 taught in Japanese school education.
・Those who are already considerably high in Japanese language ability (N1 or more), but would like to further improve their Japanese language ability.

○The policy and features of our class

1. The greatest feature of our class is that we have individual lessons (courses) as our basic policy. Therefore, based on the goal of each student, while constantly checking the pace of lesson and the achievement degree of study, we will pursue and realize the ideal way of lesson for each student.
2. According to the above teaching philosophy, we will recommend individual lessons of one teacher for one student, but also can accept group (consisting of 2 to 3 students)lessons according to your request. However, in the case of the group lessons, it will start when the students of the same Japanese level come together.
3. Before starting lessons, we will check the applicant's Japanese level "The most basic, Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced", and fully listen to the goals and demands you are aiming for, after that we will decide the contents of lessons and how to proceed.
4. The date and time of lessons can be freely set (transfer is also possible) based on your request, but depending on the reservation status, we may not be able to comply with your request, so please be aware in advance.
5. The teaching materials used in this classroom are based on the『 Minna no Nihongo 』series by 3A Corporation, which is currently used in many Japanese learning places. Other teaching materials are also possible, but if you wish for a special one of your choice, we might request you to prepare the same one for the teacher, so please consult us in that case.
6. In our class, there is no prescribed entry day or learning period. Therefore, it is possible to advance learning according to your own convenience. For some reason, even if you are forced to stop learning for a while, we will be able to accept your re-learning as many times as you like.

○ About lesson days and lesson hours

1, The lesson days are Monday through Friday. Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays are closed as a rule.
2, The lesson timetable is as shown in the table below. It is divided into A to D according to the time zone.
3, Reservation of lesson date and time can be set freely according to your convenience.
4, Lesson time per lesson has 100 minutes which means the total of �@ + �A below.

※ About reservation of lesson date and time

As for the reservation of lesson date and time, in principle, we will prioritize those who have prior reservation.. Regarding the reservation acceptance and the confirmation of reservation status, we operate all using the Google’s application "Calendar". For details, please ask us.　

○ About school fees (Enrollment fee is unnecessary, There is no distinction of fees due to differences in Japanese level.)

☆ The price ( the example 1,750yen ) of the second row in the table below means the unit price per 50 minutes. Since the lesson time per lesson has 50 minutes×2 = 100 minutes, one lesson costs 3,500yen ( = 2 unit price). For example, taking the case of 4 lessons a month of one teacher for one student, it costs 3,500yen×4 = 14,000yen. In addition, the students who are 18 years old or younger and university students (international students) can get special discount price!

○Procedure for starting lesson

1. First, please contact us by phone or email (see Access below). And then, the meeting date and time will be decided.
2. We will explain the policy of our class and the contents of lesson on the day of your visit. At the same time, we will confirm your Japanese level and ask you what’re your goals, requests etc. And then, we will propose the immediate contents of lesson.
   In addition, You can get a free lesson of 1 hour if you wish, please let us know.(however, The above special rates do not apply if you receive a free lesson)
3. After your considering the above proposal(including a free lesson), we will confirm the intention of admission. (You can reply to it either on that day or later)
4. If you agree to the policy and proposal of our class and can be satisfied with them, please choose the course that you would like and reserve the lesson date and time. And then, we will inform you of teaching materials that we plan to use.
5. Please pay the tuition fee by the start date of lesson. Payment method should be paid directly in our classroom.
6. Please come to the date and time of reservation. That will be the start of lesson with us!!

○ From May 1, 2025, we will revise the regular tuition fees. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. (April 30, 2025)
○ From April 1, 2023, we will revise the regular tuition fees. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. (March 31, 2023)
○ From April 1, 2021, we will change the above special rates and revise the regular tuition fees. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. (March 31, 2021)
○ From April 1, 2019, we will change the scope of the above special rates and revise some of the regular tuition fees (individual lessons). Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. (March 30, 2019)
○ Special information! School fees will be re-revised (price cut) drastically from December 2017!　In addition, we will accept lessons at special discount "preferential price" for students who are 18 years old or younger and university students (international students)! (November 30, 2017)

・It takes about 25 minutes from Seibu Ikebukuro station to kiyose station.
・After going out of South exit of Kiyose Station of Seibu Ikebukuro Line, turn right and proceed along the railway track. It takes 2 minutes on foot. The kanji of "清瀬日本語教室" can be seen on the windshield of our classroom in Fuji Building. Since the kanji characters of this classroom can be seen also from the west side of the platform of Kiyose Station, you can check the place before leaving the station.

○ My profile

☆ My name is Hideaki Okawa, the representative of "Kiyose Japanese Class". I briefly introduce my career.

1957　Born in Toyama prefecture.
1980　Graduated from Japanese Literature major of Faculty of Letters of Chuo University.
1981　Became a Japanese language (national language) teacher of a public junior high school in Tokyo. Since then, I had worked in certain junior high schools in Tokyo for 32 years and retired in 2013.
2014　Started to teach Japanese at a certain Japanese language school in Tokyo.
2016　Resigned from the language school and in September I went to Shanghai Normal University to study Chinese.
2017　Returned to Japan. In April, I decided to start up the "Kiyose Japanese Class".

♪ My hobby is music. When I was young, I always listened to Beatles and Queen. but now I am a big fan of BUMP OF CHICKEN and always sing their songs in karaoke (laugh). If you are interested in, please try watching "YouTube" etc!
