Speak Sinhala / Sinhala Q and A
Tamil and Japanese |
Q16 There was a TV program about Tamil language and Japanese. On the program
they say that tamil culture and language can be compared with ancient Japan
and Japanese language. |
Probably it was the TV program of " wonder world discovery "
? I watched that program too.
At the morment , my Sinhalese friend called up me, and shouted " Watch TBS now ! " and cut it off . It was the saturday night 2001 / 06/ 10.
I put on TV and watched that program.
@The contents of the program was about that of Professor Susumu Ono's
" Ponga Ponga " theory.
There was typical burial ruin in Tamil speaking area 2000 years ago. In
Japan, there is the same burial culture ( using earthwear pots for coffins
) in Kane-no-kuma in Fukuoka. And dolmens of India of 2500 years ago have
the same form as the dolmen of Kubo-Izumi-Maruyama in Saga, etc.
On some words , they insist that " flag " is " hata "
in Japanese and it is named "patam " in Tamil. Also " talking
" is " hanasu " in Japanese , "pannu " in Tamil
language. and so on You can get more knowledges about these corresponding
words between tamil and Japanese when you read P" Ono's work..
@
Japanese culture have those origin in tamili culture --- this is the theory
of P" Ono ,
The narration of the program said that words of Tamil had entered into
Japanese during Yayoi period. I remember uncertainly that once he used
to said Tamil language itself was same as Japanese.
Ruins speak no words. There are no evidence to define what they had spoken
on those days..
Here we have Mc restaurant in Japan. It was come from US, and Mc culture
is popular in Japan.. But it is sure that the Japanese speak Japanese even
if they went to there and eat American Mc hamburgers every day.
If Japanese is the same as Tamil language, every the Japanese may be speak
Tamil easily..But Tamil language is far from the Japanese tongue on many
points.
Tamil Pronunciation , grammer composition , both of them are very diffarent
from Japanese language. As one of linguistics said once like this --- Tamil
is resemble to Korean language, and I think so, too..
By the way, that program mentioned about "funeral ceremonies"
only. Why so gloomy? If it were Sinhala and Japanese language , they have
same words on "marriage" and "festival" .These relationships
are not gloomy.
