Solo Exhibition “I BECAME AN ELEPHANT
THIS SUMMER”
2015.9.15-10.8/ Artarea
B1/ Osaka
In 1969, I made a life-sized photograph of
an elephant named Haruko who lived in the Tennoji Zoo in Osaka.
Haruko was 21; I was 32. Then
in 2013, I took another life-sized photograph of Haruko. I was 76 and she was
65.
In the summer of 2014, Haruko died of natural causes in the elephant
house at the zoo.
In this exhibition, I am showing two photographs of Haruko as well as two other
older works related to elephants.
