The Leonid Meteor Shower from the top of Mt. Izumi-Katsuragi.( 19, Nov., 2001)
We, some members of the laboratory went to Mt. Izumi-katsuragi where locates on the boundary of Osaka and Wakayama pref.
to watch the Leonid Meteor Shower in the night of 18-19, Nov. 2001.
The Leonid Meteor Shower is caused by the Comet Tempel-Tuttle which has 33 years periodicity.
The meteor shower was fantastic because of so many meteors.
At the peak, we could watch more than 20 meteors per minute.
Top of the mountain was crowded by so many people who were watching the astronomical event.
