Dionaea muscipula (ディオネア・ミュシピュラ)

Distribution: North America (North and South Carolina)
Description: The 'Venus Flytrap.' A summer-growing/winter-dormant perennial tuberous terrestrial. Found in open low grassland bogs and swamps. 3 pairs of trigger hair on traps ensure efficient catch of the prey. It is a monospecific genus but many varieties and cultivars are made.
自生地：　北アメリカ
特徴：　「ハエトリソウ」。食虫植物の中では一番ポピュラーな種類。捕虫葉の内側には動体センサーとなる毛が３対程度生えており、虫を察知、捕獲する。一属一種だがたくさんの変種、園芸品種が作出されている。
