I am walking: Here as elsewhere in this discourse the use of the term “I” is only a grammatical usage and does not mean that an “I” really exists. In Pali language it is impossible to construct a verb without an ending showing a subject. A similar situation occurs in English where sometimes we have to make up a subject to make a sentence i.e. “It’s raining”. Clearly the “It” does not exist and there is only raining. Similarly there is only walking and no“I” who is walking.
