Audiences peaked at almost 14 million for the final episode, the wedding of Elizabeth and Darcy; but even before the climax viewers were gripped by `Darcymania`. Across the series audiences averaged around 12 million and people also bought videos of it in record numbers. Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth won major award for their performances in the leading roles.
