EchoLink

It is very easy to have a contact with DX ham stations by Echolink. There are two way of setting up your Echolink station. One way, you just install the software(Echolink are almost just a software) and get headset microphone to your PC. You need to be registered with your offcial callsign by Echolink servers and then easily you could get started to enjoy QSOs right now.
The other, moreover you prepare some interface between your PC and rig(HF, VHF, UHF and above are OK but F3 mode is recommended) and then modify the settings of Echolink software running on your PC, callsign xxxxxx to xxxxx-L. For starting to enjoy QSOs you need another rig and it would be better if the rig can make DTMF tone. You can control Echolink software from your remote rig by DTMF, start QSO, disconnect a station, find out any station standing-by on his PC or the same way as you.
I set up an Echolink node stiation, JG0SXC-L #57052, on UHF band 432.54MHz and it covers the range of the Suzaka area. I temporary have a cheap antenna for that so in near future will upgrade the antenna and it will be expected to cover Nagano area.
