The CoroOrfine is a choral group in Tokyo, Japan.
In 1978, some people ,who graduated from TUAT (Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology) or "JYOSHIBI" college, and Mr. Minori Masuda who organized The CoroOrfine. Having previously been members of the college chorus group on leaving college, they wished to continue singing and so organized the CoroOrfine for themselves. And, now many new menbers who have no relations with TUAT and JYOSHIBI exist in the CoroOrfine.
The original goal is we will be like the Roger Wagner chorus, but now we arm at being satisfied with a recital in every year.

The Conductor, Mr. Minori Masuda was the first conductor of the CoroOrfine. He studied early music and operas in italy and was therefore very well qualified to be our conductor. Sadly he was passed away at 1985. After that, we got a new conductor and a music director Mr. Tadahiko Hirano who is a famous opera singer. And 1997 We invited Mr. Susumu Matsumoto as a new conductor. He is a opera singer too.

The performance. We have a Recital every year, in Tokyo. We have performed Rossini, Mozart, Monteverdi, Brittn .... and a great deal of early and contemporary music. In August 1997, we had a concert tour to Italy. We sang the Mozart Requiem and contemporary italian works at Farfa music festival, Italy.
In this summer, we shall visit Farfa again!

Let's sing together! If you live in Japan, and you like a choral music. You can sing in CoroOrfine. At the moment all our members are Japanese, but some of us speak English or Italian. Usually we sing in Latin or italian ( sometime German or English ) song. It's probably easier for you to sing these songs than it is for us. We have a rehearsal every thursday evening at the Hatsudai Catholic Church in 7:00pm to 9:00pm. The Hatsudai Catholic Church is 10 min walk from the "YOYOGI-HACHIMAN" station of Odakyu Line.
