Gist of the story

A bear about to go into hibernation is awakened by a faint cry. It was a baby cicada who resided in the same hole as the bear. No matter how much the bear tried to comfort the cicada, it won't stop crying.

On new year's day, animals in the forest gather. They have an appetite for eating cicadas, which they consider are noisy and useless. When the cicada appears the bear gets angry and yells at them.

Living in the hole for a number of years, now it's time for the cicada to leave the hole. But as it can only live in the outside world for two weeks, It is crying sadly. afraid of being eaten.

That said, the animals ot the forest, foxes, rabbits, monkeys, raccons among others quietly dispersed.

Summer came and the cicada finally came out of the hole. The cicada begins metamorphosis as the bear and other animals look on. Then seeing a squirrel up close on the branches of a tall tree trying to save the cicada screams at a little owl wanting to eat it.

The cicada, having tried to quickly transform, on its flight peeed on the owl much to its devastation.

All summer long, the cicadas' buzzing echoed throughout the forest and no one said it was noisy.

The bear returned to its den for a lonely hibernation, but found the delicious nectar left by the cicada.
