This is a gate of Saidaiji, a Buddisum temple. 'Saidaiji' is also used as the area name of an eastern part of Okayama-Shi, Japan. This area name is from this Buddisum temple. The gate was built of woods in 1740.

Taka has lived in Saidaiji, Okayama since 1974. I would like to give some infromation about Saidaiji to you. (Under construction / 11.Jun.2002)

These are sweet peachs. Mr. TSUJINO, who grew these, gave me on 23rd. Jun. 2002. The day was the first day that fresh sweet ones came in this year.

Mr. & Mrs. KOMOTO invited us to their home party on the evening of 23rd. Jun. 2002. Mr. KOMOTO got big 50cm long flatfishes, and it was served as raw fish or cooked in stock with soy sauce. It was super delicious!!!!

JR Ako line info. at JR Okayama staton.

No.3 or 4 platform of JR Okayama statiion is avalable to come Saidaiji. Take care of other line trains. A few numbers of San-yo line train use this platform a day.

Saidaiji station is the fifth stop station after leave from Okayama station.

Okayama -> Nishigawara,shujitsu -> Takashima -> Higashiokayama -> Oodara
->Saidaiji.

It will take for 17 minutes to arrive in Saidaiji.

The bus platform to Saidaji is No.9. This platform is also used for another line, so please ask a driver about the distination, like 'Saidaiji desuka?'

A famous temple SAIDAIJI is called 'KAN-NON-IN' in Saidaiji. It takes 10 minutes walk from the station.

You can visit some other good places around Saidaiji by car or taxi., or some places are good to come by Ryobi-bus. 'YOTSUDE-AMI' meaning square fish nets in Kuban, 'KESHIGOYAMA' hiking, 'KOTORINO-MORI' waliking in Jodo, 'HOHDEN' beach resort, 'INU-JIMA' island resort, and some other good places will please you a lot.
