ラペルーズ（La Pérouse, Jean François Galaup de. 1741-1788）フランスの海軍士官、探検家。

ルイ十六世にアジア東北岸の探検を命ぜられ、1785年ブレスト港を出帆、南米大陸を周航、

太平洋を経てマカオに到着した後、日本海を縦断。間宮海峡の最狭部まで達し、宗谷海峡

（ラ・ペルーズ海峡）を通過、アイヌ民族と接触、千島列島を探索した。その後南太平洋で消息を絶つ。
