トリストラム（Henry Baker Tristram, 1822-1906)は、イギリス人の聖職者、聖書研究家、

旅行家、鳥類学者。娘（Katherine Alice Salvin Tristram)が大阪で

宣教・教職にあった時に来日し、各地を旅行した。日本の第一

印象、横浜、東京、日光、箱根、名古屋、京都、四国、九州、阿蘇など、豊富

で鮮明な図版（多くは前頁大）を含めて描く。ダーウィンの進化論を受け継いだ彼

の鳥類研究により、トリストラムの名前を冠した鳥が多数ある。
