フランス人画家、日本文化研究家レガメ（1844-1907)は、パリ生まれ、

美術学校を卒業後、デッサン学校や建築専門学校で教鞭をとった。

1871年から73年までIllustrated London News に頻繁に原稿を送り、

後にアメリカに渡り、1876年ギメとともに来日。1877年まで日本、中国、

	インドを旅行し、そのスケッチをパリ万博に展示した。
