５１.ハンガの山

鬱蒼と茂る屋敷森。
ここは駅前の神明宮周辺に次いで広く残された阿佐ヶ谷の森。
その真ん中を貫く未舗装の小道がある。
確かここも宮崎駿氏の著書で紹介されていたのを記憶する。
久しぶりに歩いてみるとなぜか金属製のハンガの山が。
どうやらカラスが巣造りのために集めてきたのが木から落ちたのだろうか？
こんなに大量にあるとは。
そういえば朝夕、阿佐ヶ谷の空にはカラスがたくさん飛び交っている。
ここもカラスのよい塒なのだろう。
かつて「お伊勢の森」といわれた場所で唯一地名道りの森が残っているのはここだけだ。

51. A Pile of Hangers

Thick residential woods.
These large woods extend around Shinmeigu in front of the station.
There is an unpaved alley which pierces through the middle of it.
I remember surely that this place was introduced by Mr. Hayao Miyazaki’s work.
When I walked here after a long time, I found strange things, a pile of hangers.
They might have been collected by crows for making their nest and dropped
off the tree. What quantities of hangers they collected!
If so, it is natural that many crows live and fly in this town.
This town may be a good nest for them, too.
This is the only part which remains of the woods once called “Wood of Ise”.
