The History of the Visitation. 1978 to 2009 This exhibition concerns itself with the seemingly random becoming a coherent narrative. The work produced has been made over 30 years and I intend through this exhibition to search for comparisons within my visual language between the past and now. All of the current work is produced using Children wax crayons, Car sprays, New Technology paint (Interference), Muji pens and ink. They are concerned at depicting past events and imaginary scenarios. They are a form of " Urban Magic Realism ". The narratives are more explicit than drawings previously produced. My inspirations are the Soviet Filmmaker Andrei Tarkovsky and Science Fiction writers Boris and Arcady Strugatsky. I'm interested in depicting the inexplicable coherence of the random. The change of function of form from the literal to the lateral. In the display of the exhibition the work with be hung so key and relevant works from 1970,80 and 90 will be next to the current drawings.
