 "SHISAIGA"(Paper-colored picture)
"Shisaiga"(paper-colored picture) is a unique special art, which uses colored "washi"(traditional Japanese paper) for coloring. It does not use conventional coloring materials at all. It is certainly "collage", but I will continue studies to produce, with colored Japanese paper, an effect better than that of ordinary pigments.
Artists' techniques are diverse, and I, an artist for more than 30 years, aspire to express beauty with what I think is the best coloring stuff.
I changed conventional paints for colored Japanese paper more than ten years ago.
How this unique coloring method will change the techniques of expression depends on my future research. I wish to produce a warm and appealing beauty with colored Japanese paper, which has elegance, depth and exquisiteness. Shisaiga does not discolor, because special glue is used for sizing.
